Dermatopathology Fellowship

The Ronald O. Perelman Department of Dermatology at NYU Langone offers a one-year fellowship in dermatopathology designed to prepare dermatologists and pathologists for careers in academic dermatopathology. The fellowship is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).

Fellows in our program receive extensive hands-on training in dermatopathology through participation in clinics, writing final reports (sign-off) of routine cases, and participating in consults, teaching, and conferences. You are taught by experts from the Section of Dermatopathology and other faculty from our department and the Department of Pathology. During the fellowship, dermatologists receive training in anatomic pathology, while pathologists gain experience with clinical dermatology.

Training includes oral pathology, cytology, and molecular biology.

Alexandra Flamm, MD, oversees the fellowship.

We accept one or two fellows each year. Applicants for the Dermatopathology Fellowship must have board certification or eligibility in dermatology or anatomic pathology.
