Dermatopathology
Dermatopathology Faculty and Fellows reviewing a Slide with a Multi-Headed MicroscopeThe objective of this one-year ACGME accredited fellowship is to prepare dermatologists and pathologists for careers in academic dermatopathology. The fellow receives extensive training in dermatopathology during sign-out of routine cases, cases sent in consultation and through their participation in numerous teaching conferences. The fellows are taught by faculty of the dermatopathology section in addition to other faculty of the Pathology and Dermatology departments. During the fellowship, those trained as dermatologists receive training in anatomic pathology, and those previously trained in pathology are exposed to clinical dermatology in one of the leading Dermatology departments in the world. Additional training may include immunopathology, electron microscopy, molecular biology and cytologic studies.
The Dermatopathology fellowship is overseen by Shane A. Meehan, M.D., Acting Director of the Dermatopathology Section.
Requirements: Board certification or eligibility in dermatology or anatomic pathology.
Stipend: Commensurate with the level of postgraduate training
