NYU Dermatologic Surgery Associates

The NYU School of Medicine Dermatologic Surgery Associates provides patients with specialized care for the treatment of malignant and benign skin lesions and offers cutting edge therapies for aesthetic and cosmetic concerns. In addition to caring for patients in the practice, faculty members are involved in ongoing research to advance the understanding and treatment of dermatologic issues, as well as in resident and fellow education.

Mohs micrographic surgery represents an advanced techniques for the removal of the most common forms of skin cancer in order to minimize the chance of recurrence. This microscopically controlled tissue-sparing procedure is performed by Dr. John A. Carucci, a specially-trained dermatologic surgeon with over a decade of experience.

Dr. Carucci and Dr. Ladan Shahabi perform a wide variety of procedures for the cosmetic improvement of the skin. These include the use of lasers and other light sources, fillers (such as Restylane, Radiesse, etc.), liposuction and fat transfers, chemical peels and the use of botulinum toxin. Drs. Carucci and Shahabi are specially trained for the performance of these procedures and our staff has years of experience in assisting our faculty and patients.
